Belle Fourche, and Doug Pederson, Canton. NOT SHAME, SHAME Daily Balls Fourcht Post It's an easy 1 0 or IS minute drive to the south. It offers a variety of opportunities that won't be found in Belle Fourche, and it's as much yours as anyone's. We're talking about Black Hills State College and the many services it provides for the citizens of the area beyond the point of academic training No if you think we're going to say "shame shame, you are not taking advantage of this opportunity" you're going to be disappointed. What we want to say is: "Congratulations, you are taking advantage of the opportunities, if Thursday night was any indication The play "Night Watch" was presented at the student union of BHSC Thursday nighl by the theatre arts department.

It was opening night for the three-day performance. It wasn a capacity crowd but the place was almost full. We were fascinated by the fact that 30 to 40 of the audience was from Belle Fourche Those were the people we knew. There may have been others we did not recognize, but even 20 would have been impressive from our point of view. It was an indication that the people of this community are aware of the presence of Black Hills State College and the bonus it can provide for everyday living What's more we think those people who made the trip to Spear-fish felt the evening was well worth the trip.

For us, it was our first experience with theatre in the round. We have always felt that putting the actors literally in the middle of the audience would detract from the illusion. We found, however, that it heightened the illusion. It almost made you feel as if you were sitting in the living room with the actors, a part of the performance. It happens that Night Watch is a mystery and lends itself easily to the "in the room with the actors" feeling And if you're interested in the mechanics of the story, the ending is a real bomb and the performances are effective FLYING Guest Ranch New Year's Eve Party and Dance SUNDAY, DEC.
