elimina tion of some state programs will be needed next year Gov Christopher Bond said Tuesday The governor met for about two hours with his department directors and later said he had urged them to take a hard look at existing programs going to have to cut expenses and generate new in the governor told reporters following the closed door session Bond however said no firm decisions were made on the overall spen ding plans for next year ex cept for a general discussion of ways to hold down spending have to have some breathing the gover nor said Among a variety of ideas discussed was a review
