Coleman, chairman of the Students for Johnson of Ar- kansa, has issued an invitation to ali Arkansas to join a state wide motorcade to Texarkana to hear President Lyndon B. Johnson speak at 7 p.m.

Friday. In Northwest Arkansas, motorcade will form at Old Main for University students at 11:25 a.m. with a chartered bus, and meet the people from the Fay- etteviile area at Drake Field at 11:40 a.m. All state motorcades will meet at the Howard Johnson Motel in Texarkana at 5:30 p.m. and proceed with escort to the dedicatory services where President Johnson will speak.

As the motorcade passes through each of the towns, persons who wish to participate will join the group. Those interested In attending the President's speech are urged by the student organization to participate in the motorcade. Arkansas Students for Johnson opened the first students for LB drive in the nation and was the first organization in the state support Johnson for re election in Arkansas League Reports On Poll Tax Buying Rules One-hundreU-sixty paid tax applications were received in Fayetteville last week, the local League of Women Voters announces. Deadline for a y- ment of 1964 poll taxes is 3:30 p.m. October 1, at the county collector's office, located in the basement of the courthouse.

The League pointed out: Payment of the poll tax is a state requirement for voting in state and local elections. Holders of 1964 paid poll tax receipts will be eligible to vote for national offices in the-coming November 3 Sections, as well as for all state and local offices and issues through October 1, 1965. Free Poll tax receipts are also available in the collector's office. However, Mrs. Willard i comb, the League's Voters Service Chairman, points out a holders of the 1964 free poll tax receipts will be eligible to vote only for the following offices on November 3 of this year: President and vice president of the United States; and representatives of Congress from the third district.

Any person wishing to pay his 1964 poll tax, but unable to visit the courthouse by October 1, may make written application to the county collector. Written applications for paid poll tax receipts should include the appli- ean't resquest for a 1964 tax receipt; one dollar in check or currency; the applicant's and voting pre If the precinct is known, a description of the location of the applicant's residence should be included. Written applications are to be postmarked no later than October 1. The courthouse is closed on Saturdays. Eight Counties Represented At Water Meeting SPRINGDALE Approximately seventy members of the Northwest Arkansas District of the Water Pollution Control Federation, representing eight counties, met here Wednesday for a one-day conference.

The federation is made up of mayors, water and sewer commissioners and superintendents and other personnel connected i water and sewer operations. Members began arriving at 9 a.m. at the city administration building and went into a business meeting at 10:30. Following a luncheon at the Masonic Temple the group toured the water and sewer facilities here. The tour included visits to the sewage treatment plant, meter maintenance and operations shop, elevated water reservoir on Fitzgerald Mountain east of the city, water treat- Bomb Threat Empties 2 Theaters A false bomb scare emptied two Fayetteville theaters a night.

The telephone threat came to the police department at 7:29 p.m. and both Uark a Ozark theaters were evacuated in a matter of minutes. Police Chief Hollis Spencer said the withdraw! of patrons from both theaters was odderly. Firemen and police kept patrons outside both buildings for about 10 minutes before allowing them to return to their seats. The anonymous threat was apparently aimed initially at the Uark Theater, but some confusion resulted from the several ensuing telephone conversations.

Officials decided to take no chances and emptied both theaters. AN AP REPORT ON: Today In Washington WASHINGTON AP) President Johnson met Wednesday with 13 of his new foreign policy advisers and said they symbolize "the tradition of nonpartisan service on matters of war and peace. Johnson gave the name Peace Panel to the group, which has IS members in all. Donahue, arrested Sunday by city police, Is charged i breaking a window out of Bill's Conoco Station on College Avenue with the intent to burglarize it. Deputy Prosecutor Bass Trumbo filed the Information yesterday as police wound up questioning of the teenaged suspect. A bench warrant was issued this morning. George Meader, has accused Chairman Emanuel Celler, of the House Judiciary Committee of planning to whitewash the Justice Department instead of investigate it. After the committee directed the investigation Tuesday over Celler's objection, the chairman issued a statement that the probe was intended only to air charges against the departmenl by Teamsters Union President James R. WASHINGTON (AP) The space agency reports that a jamming of the solar paddle has halted operations of the Nimbus weather satellite after it had taken more than 27,000 pictures. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration said Wednesday that the jamming srevented the paddles from rotating toward the sun and this, in turn, halted use of solar power to recharge batteries that operated Nimbus' electronic equipment. (AP)-Arkansas schools will get $2,283,265 of national school lunch funds allotted to the states by the Department of Agriculture, an increase of $253,804 the Agricultural Marketing Service said today. Each State receives school lunch funds on the basis of the number of USD A Type A lunches served during 1963-64 school year, adjusted by the state per capita income.
