Hayes is an Air Force ROTC Cadet and his present training session not only includes observation, but also many other features, including a jet orientation flight in the T-33 jet trainer shown. Following g r a d u a tion from Drake University, Kirk will be eligible for appointment as a second lieutenant in the air force and for entry into flight training.
