came today in a spectacular game with a powerful 12 University of Texas team tonight were named to iny in Miami New Years day DranXTO bowl fontball classic nrciinsf Louisiana 'State university (Jack) Baldwin chairman of the scheduling committee said that the Aggies had accepted the invitation Texas A and lost to Texas 27 13 in a game that decided the Southwest championship and vir tually put the Longhorns in the Cotton bowl at Dallas The Xggics had been held to a scoreless tie by North Texas A and four weeks ago Both the Aggies and are all civilian teams composed of un der draft age or 4 students The Orange bowl will mark their sec ond meeting this year Texas A and trimmed the Tigers from Baton Rouge 28 13 early in the season Orange bowl officials who Ti vn made it a policy year after year to choose free scoring teams rather than perfect record elevens said Texas A and was their choice Because of the spectacular passing attack the youthful Texans have shown all season The visitors eleven tallied in the final minute cf play when Junius Sprinkle flungea over from the one yard ine to bring Home an upset win over the Jackets tutored by Jimmy Maus It was a nip and tuck struggle throughout although Lexington never took over the lead until mid way in the fourth quarter when Lee Spears an outstanding back crashed over left tackle from the three yrd line and Ripper McBride booted the point to send the Maus men into a 21 20 lead It stood until Home took the next kickoff and marched 65 yards to snatch victory out of the fire when Sprinkle plunged over for the deciding score Lexington had time to take the kickoff and run a series of four plays before losing the ball just before the end of the game Statistics Show Difference The winners rolled up 17 first downs
