Give Farewell Surprise For Roy Hinzs Sonera — Mr and Mrs Roy Him were pleasantly surprised last Sunday evening when neighbors dropped in as a farewell courtesy. The Hinz will be moving at the close of the school semester to a farm between Lakola and Buffalo Center. Their mailing address will be Buffalo Center. Enjoying the courtesy were Mr and Mrs Jack N'ytnan, Mrs Edna Johannesen. and Mr and Mrs Tommy Menke. Dinner guests of the Robert Hurts included Mr and Mrs Ralph Fleir and family of Turtle Lake, Wis. Mrs Irene Petersen and Linda of Ringsted joined the group in the afternoon and the Earl Fleir family of Estherville spent the evening with them. Mr and Mrs David Looft attended the 25th wedding anniversary open house for Mr and Mrs Ed hoppee of Fairmont. Spending the weekend at the Everett Withams were Mr and Mrs Pete Helmers and son, Tony of DCS Moines and Mr and Mrs Robert Thiel of Sioux City. Last Saturday callers at the Everett Withams were Mrs David Ericksen and daughter of Lotts Creek and Mrs Zula Bell of Lohrville, la. dny. All who registered were presented gifts by the personnel. Seneca Stars 4-H club met Nov. 26 at the home of Audrey and Kathy Bergum. A bake sale is planned at Fenton for Dec. 15. They also plan to go caroling Monday evening, Dec. 17. The joint December meeting of the Burt American Legion and Auxiliary was held at the hall Tuesday evening. Memorial services were conducted by the president and chaplain in memory of 2 members, Georgia Holding and Mayme Schroeder. A birthday gift was sent to the Auxiliary's assigned needy child. Funeral services were held Friday at Casseleton, North Dakota. Henry Faber, formerly from here was a brother of the late Math Faber from here. Mr and Mrs Milton Farrow attended the funeral of Roger Hagedorn Wednesday. He was a nephew of Mrs Farrow. Mr and Mrs William Jurgens and children of Buffalo Center were Monday evening visitors at the John Furst home. Mr and Mrs Donald Gangstee and family of Elmore were Sunday evening visitors at the Albert Goetz home. Mr and Mrs Albert Goetz and family visited Sunday at the Elmer Englebarts home at Titonka. Sunday dinner guests at the Robert Hamilton home were Mr and Mrs Don Sheetz and Roger of Austin, Minn. Lena Giilknecht went to Mason Ciy Monday where she atonded an executive club dinner at the Hotel Hanford. Mr and Mrs Burdette Hoeppner, Mrs C. A. Gutknccht and Lena Gutknecht were Mason City visitors Friday. Jennie De Grool who had been visiting with Lena and Emma Gutknecht since Thanksgiving, returned to her home at that time.
