and 28000 persons who overflowed this magnificent memo rial before It had been formally open ed The score was 14 to 13 and It was just that kind of a game By striking suddenly with one of those long looping passes which the Tar Heels have suddenly developed to a high degree of perfection young Jimmy Ward from the center of the field hurled far to the right to the waiting arms of Sapp He took the One from Sloan to Turner carried to the Carolina 25 yard line and another from Close to Hushion ate up the distance all the way to the 3 yard line With the last sands of time dropping away Virginia fought like mad for the touchdown Hutter was stopped on a surging rush that carried him half across the field a whistle blew and teams and frantic crtfwds took It for the end A Virginia man had been off side however and despite the whistle the play had to be run over again five yards back This time Close dropped back to pass edged further back still looking for bls man and finally spotting no one
