(40-41*) GRID GUESSERS CONTEST By Ol' Man Mose Last Saturday was a day of upsets, but despite that, four of our Grid Guesscrs came up with 17 games right out of 20. Mrs. B. J. Bradford, Algona, who has been entering the contest for a long time, walked off with first place. She had a high game total of fi8. The high game was Illinois (15)—Ohio State (SI) for a total of 06. Right behind, taking second, was Jim Meyer of Fcnton, with 17 right and a high game of 57. In third was Dorothy Abbott, 17 right and a high game of 53. There was one other 17 right entry, Jim Abbott, but his high score guess was 52. The effort to win the free chicken dinner at Al's Place is causing some of our entries to deliberately try for the dinner, we suspect. This week it went to J. G. Grotte of 301 E. Lucas, Algona. There were several entries with worse guesses than his, but none of them turned in a completed entry blank, which is necessary. The completed entry blank includes a high game total. There were quite a few who placed on the Honor Roll, with 10 games right. They were Louis Egel, Vicki Steil, Walt Hagen, Don Hagcn, Gary Hagen, C. F. Schilevert, Gladys Shumway, Dave Shumway, Mrs. Garland Bradley, Tom Moe, James Hoffmann, Dick Thoreson, Mrs. Les Kenyon, Bob Slobc, Mike Schmidt, Donald Bcisch, Mrs. Franklin Hagg, Dave Everds, Mark Prieskorn, Jane Fraser, and VVm. Wlllard, all Algona; Robert Lovstad, Burt; Bill Dudding, Art Mulligan, Bancroft; Ruth Baumann, Lakota; Ralph Genglcr, Whittemore; Robert D. Wright, Clear Lake; Mrs. Amos Krominga, Titonka; and Mrs. Betty Mueller, Fenton. This is another week; 20 more games on today's football page. (New Listing) 3 Bdrm. Homes: 1620 E.
