Chapmai of Great Bend, brings great sorrow to the people of Barton county and oi Central Kansas. "General" Chapman, as he was called before he became senator, grew to manhood in Great Bend, became, a leading banker, prominent citizen and firm friend of the community. He too' big for feuds and factions, he was popular with all classes and conditions of people, and he deserved the respect and confidence which he received.
