S.ST'i«Ji»wtr POLICE BILL FAILS TO AFFECT STOCKS Pricey Tumble Despite Passage of Law by Legislators of Nevada Rush to Sell Takes Props From Under Market and Lower Figures Rule Prices were lower yesterday on the I Mining: exchange, although predictions I had been freely made that the passage; of the police bill by the Nevada legis- lature would send prices upward. Ap-! parent! however, the action? of the legislature had been completely discounted. Coupled with this were early reports from New York of lower prices. Under these influences the opening Was Ipwer. At midday, when It had fully developed that no rise would follow the action of the legislature, there was a rush to sell and prices sagged badly.

In the decline the leaders, under a heavy volume of sales' were carried down from 7 to 20 points. On the curb prices revived and merger was in demand points above the regular, closing prfce. Goldfield Consolidated opened 7 cents down at J5.70 and was sold around this figure until midday, when It dropped abruptly to $5.60. In the hurry to sell the price was depressed to $5.50. With the exhaustion of the selling: movement -the- price rallied to $5.60 and then gave way again, falling 7to $5.52 at the close.

Florence, at $4.75, 2 "points off at the opening. With the midday selling it fell to $4.65, but regained some of the lost ground, closing at $4.70. Daisy was -weaker and suffered a d-ecline of cents. It was $1.15 at the" end of the session. Fraction was fairly steady, closing with the loss of 1 point at S7 cents.

MoFt of the lesser issues fell in I ympathy with the leaders. Kewanas I was 1 points off, at 51 cents, Columbia Mountain numbers, Atlanta was down 1 cent and Great Bend lost 1 point. Tonopahs were weaker and the leading issues declined. Tocopah cf: Nevada was sold at $5.17 Vi, Montana was i lower at MacNamara fell 4 points i jto 45 cents, Bclmont was afj jsl.o2ii and Jim Butler slid back to 4Qi cents. Mayflower was higher at 1S cents.
