Certainly Any conunent on any topic of interest is welcome in it to the Call in your comments any time everyday be recorded and considered for publication Just keep it legal and in good taste and remember briefer messages get preference So get it off 7 your chest now by calling A lawsuit states a Chico nursing managers tried to stop a nurse from complaining about a death On Aug 9 last year Nina Donahoo 93 of Chico died at a local hospital At the time she was a patient at Beverly Manor Convalescent Hospital 1 88 Cohasset Lane A lawsuit filed June 19 in Superior Court says that Leslie McWhirter a nurse at Beverly Manor was harassed and intimidated by the management when she complained about verbal abuse she believed led to death client was constructively said Neal Bucknell the Chico attorney who filed the suit on behalf of McWhirter Apart from the lawsuit the state Department of Health Services (DHS) has been investigat ing death and related issues Bob Kennard district administrator for the DHS branch of licensing and certification in Chico said his report on the incident has to be reviewed by his superiors in Sacramento The report will be released possi bly in a couple of weeks he said adding in the meantime he could not comment on the case After Donahoo died according to the suit McWhirter complained to managers of the nurs ing home about she perceived as patient who reportedly are in Europe One of their five sons was in the house with friends at the time of the fire according to CD fire information officer Janet Marshall The young man and his friends all escaped with out injury According to CD records the fire was essen tially out by about 11:40 pm but fire units stayed at the scene until nearly 6 am Monday CD fire investigator Capt Ted Crawford said the fire was caused by the "high wattage" lamp Such lamps can become extremely hot The $400000 fire damage figure is broken down into $250000 to the structure and $150000 to the contents of the home Some of us walk and ride bikes Some ot us walk all over Chico to attend to our errands Others bicy cle even for groceries We all drive around in Mercedes or Lincoln Continentals complaining about the lack of flow through traf fic due to the presence of the stop signs put there for the citizens who find it necessary to cross the street once in a while Gates Resale Gold Country Casino Italian Cottage Marge's Checkbook Balancing The Medicine Shoppe i Produce The Outpost ireside Thrift Section Acoustic Ear Dan Carlson All Occasions Chico Hearing Aid Home Savings Section Brusie uneral Home Ringing in your ears?
