13, 1859, he made his home for more than 13 years at Coos Junction and for the last two and one-half years had been a resident of Roseburg. Surviving are his widow; a City Councilman Charles P. Snoddy of Roseburg, and a daughter, Edith Barnctt, Seattle. He also leaves three rrandchil(. Alvin Miles, of The Dalles, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, was best man.

The bride's mother wore an attractive rose-colored suit with navy accessories and a corsage of lilies of the valley. The bridegroom's mother wore an ensemble of print with rose accessories and a corsage of mixed flowers. Following the ceremony, a charming breakfast was served at the Heathman hotel. Snapdragons and rosebuds formed 'beautiful bouquets flanking the tiered musical wedding cake. As the bride and bridegroom cut the Oke, the musical box played the edding march from Lohengrin.

Following a honeymoon at Seaside, Mr. and Mrs. Spencer will make their home at 630 N. 23rd street, Portland. The bride has many friends in Roseburg, where she attended the local schools and was graduated from Roseburg senior high school in 1936.

She attended business college in San Francisco and Sacramento junior college, after which she took the three-year nursing training course at The Dalles hospital. Since becoming 6 graduate nurse, she has been nployed as surgical nurse at the Community hospital in Medford, until she resigned a few weeks ago to be married. The bridegroom attended school In The Dalles and Oregon State college and is now employed in the shipyards at Portland. NURSES ENJOY LARGE MEETING WEDNESDAY EVENING District No. 11 of the Oregon State Graduate Nurses association held a large and interesting meeting at the lovely new home of Mrs.

USO BENEFIT CARD PARTY IS ENJOYABLE AFFAIR WEDNESDAY The first of a series of five weekly benefit card parties for the USO clubrooms was held at the club Wednesday evening and was sponsored by the Junior Woman's club. Mrs. Clifford E. president of the club, and Mrs.

George Crenshaw were general chairmen. High score for the contract bridge play was won by Mrs. J. P. Motschenbacher and Ray Tann-lund won the high score pinochle prize.

Lovely refreshments were served at the close of the card play. Next Wednesday night the Eagles auxiliary will sponsor the benefit card party at the USO clubrooms. Prizes will be awarded and refreshments will be served. At the close of the series of five parties, grand prizes will be awarded. STUDY CLUB HAS ENJOYABLE MEETING DRAIN, May 15.

The Study club met at the home of Mrs. Vera Brlttain, who served a delicious luncheon at 1:30, afterward guessing games and bingo were played. The study program was dispensed with and an informal social time was enjoyed as a farewell to Mrs. Brlttain, who expects to leave soon. Bob Hanson nee Madeline Murray, were overnight guests at vhe H. P. Rice home last Wednesday night en route to Los Angeles, where the Gordons have made their home. They are moving immediately to Marion, where Mr. Gordon Is being transferred to the Veterans' Facility In that city.

The refreshment table was covered bv a beautiful lace cloth and centered with a small cradle filled with colorful spring flowers, flanked by tall pink and blue tapers. The next meeting will be held June 9 at 7:30 at the clubhouse. The hostess will be announced later. SENIOR CLASS PRESENTS ANNUAL PLAY FRIDAY RIDDLE, May 15. The senior class of the Riddle high school presented the annual play Friday evening, May 1st, to a large crowd at the school gym.

The play was a comedy entitled "Boots and Her Buddies." Prof. Horace Lundberg was director of the play and Vivian Thompson, prompter. Proceeds of $26 were realized from the play, part of which will be used by the class to defray graduation expenses. The twelve characters were taken as follows: Boots, Edna Rigsby; Mr. Boyd, Dclton Pruner; Jed Hardy, Jerry Sackett; Bill Thompson, Bill Randall; Perdval Manners, Edward Hart; Howard Nutz, Glen Gil-lispie; Mr.

Stevens, George Hamlin; Mrs. Stevens, Dorothy Sho-bert; Mrs. Hemingway, Jane Hau-sotter; Mandy, Covie Robblns; Mary, Maybelle Hendricks; Jane, Mildred Hamlin.
