DIAGONAL NEWS by Clifford in OSHELrWINKLER Katherine Ann Winkler of Creston and Alan Lee Oshel of Des Moines were united in arriage Saturday afternoon, December 16, at 2:30 in Saint United Church of Christ in Creston. The vows of the double ring ceremony were pronounced by the pastor, the Rev. G. G. Bratzel, in the ence of 2 0 0 guests.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Winkler of Creston, the groom the son of Mr. and. Mrs.

The bride, given in arriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of white velvet which she had made eznpire- style, ith long fitted sleeves which ere fastened with tons and loops and ended in bridal points. Her bridal train was aisle-wide, and her tip veil caught to a small cap of orange blossoms with ed petals, and she carried a cascade bridal bouquet of red and hite roses. Her diamond- centered heart-shaped necklace was a if of the groom. Preceding the bride to the altar ere her sister, Linda Winkler, who served as aid of honor, the sister, Mrs.

Charles Peterson of De- Soto, a bridesmatron, and Carolyn Winkler, another sister of the bride as junior maid. They wore identical gowns of cranberry red velvet, with em pire bodice and sheath skirts, an matching shoes. Their atching veils were held in place by bows of red velvet, and they wore white gloves and carried muffs of white velvet with attached poinsettias. Their necklaces were 'heart-shaped pendants with diamonds, gifts of the bride. Shelly Sobotka of Diagonal, a cousin of the groom, as er girl dressed like the bridal attendants, and carried a white basket filled with red tias.

RinRbearer was Jeffrey Alan Peterson, the nephew, carry ing the rings on a lace trimmed pillow heart shape. Alvin Schlapia of Omaha, a friend, was est man, and en Miller of Altoona, a cousin, and Charles Peterson of De Soto, the groom brother-in- law served a groomsmen. The groom ore a dark suit with a tie of wine-tone. His diar mond tie-tac as a gift from the bride. Other en in the wedding party also ore dark suits and white carnation boutonnieres.

The mother of the bride and the mother of th groom had corsages of hite carnations along with imbedded red roses. Following th ceremony a re ception was ld in the Parish Hall with Mrs. Bud Brown of Creston and rs. Carol ka of Diagonal, cousins of thft groom as hostesses. Members of the Guild Saint were in charge, and junior esses were am ela Sobotka and Patricia ercer of Diagonal, Jackie Oshel an Kim Brown of Creston, Linda Oshel of ray, and ora Miller of toona.

Mrs. Larry Hicks of rt Leonard Wood, Miss Bonnie Ehm of Greenfield, and Miss Lynn Emerson Creston, ceived' and a rranged the gifts. Mrs. Alvin Schlapia took charge of the guest book. The serving table was laid with a cloth white linen which had belonged to the grandm other Winkler and lighted with, white candles based in red poinsettias.
