The Algona Upper Peg IMoinea.Algona, Iowa, Dec. 16,1»36 LuVerne Speakers Win Gold Cups in County Junior Declamatory Contest Lone Rock, Lakota Were Other ^Contestants on Wednesday Lu Verne: At the county junior high declamatory contest held at LuVerne Wednesday night, there wre representatives from Lone Rock, LuVerne, and Lakota. It was a very close contest. The results, were as follows: Oratorical "The Man Who Played God," Arlo Dehnert, LuVerne, rst; "Soul of the American Soldier," Bobby Powers, Lakota. Dramatic "Honey," Shirley Hanson, Lakota, first; "The Wheels of Time", Mary Dimler, LuVerne, second. Humorous "Side Show Talent Performs", by Bobby Beemer, Lakota, rst; "Greta Grenhorna," Helen Join Mosher, LuVerne, second. LuVerne received the gold cup as in the entire contest their con testants totalled the highest num bcr of places. 8,000 Lbs. MIHc Dally Harry Melezina, Denmark, Wis. Is the new choesemaker at the factory recently opened by the Port Dodge Creamery company, six miles east of LuVerne. They are recieving 3,000 pounds of milk daily now and expect to buy more when the equipment la all ready. Mr Melezina is staying at the Harry Chrlstensen homes until the living quarctrs are renovated when his wife will join him. Mrs. Geo. Rhodes, Aberdeen South Dakota, Is visiting her mother, Mrs. Josephine Scribner. Mrs. Dean Castleman, Renwlck spent Wednesday visiting Mrs. W. F. Godfrey and other friends here. The M. P. McGuires who have lived on a farm about a mile north of LuVerne, are moving to Des Moines. D. H. Wermersen was taken to Des Moines Friday for medical treatment.
