The AJgona Upper Des Homes, Algona, Iowa, Bee. 8,1936 egggg*3CM^^ We're Ready! SANTA and his staff arrived from the North the other day to begin their Christmas residence in Algona. Up the "Scenic Route" they swung—Donder, Blitzen, and all—right straight to our corner, the center of town. The old fellow pronounced himself "tickled pink with the store." In an interview after a winter's nap he said: "You may quote me as saying this will be one of the biggest Christmases we have ever known." Then, laying his finger aside of his nose (a characteristic gesture) he added: "I see you people here agree with me. I've never looked at such decorations. When did you have time to figure out those ingenious windows? Even with my experience, I couldn't have done that! You have a real store for men." "Right 3'ou are, Mr. Claus," we said. "It was a big job. But that's not the half of it. You haven't even mentioned the two most important things of all—the collecting of hundreds of handsome gifts, and the selecting of competent sales people to help." "Naturally, I took all that for granted at The Hub", chuckled Santa. "And now, are'nt we all set? Put an ad in the paper.
