The Algona Upper DM Moine^ Algona, towa, Kov. 24,1936 SENECA GIRL IS BANCROFTMAN'S BRIDE, NOV. 16TH Opal Nelson and Joseph Neuman, Jr., Are Married Seneca: The Rev. Schultes sang the nuptial high mass which united the hearts and hands of Opa Nelson, daughter of Albin Nelson ol Seneca and Joseph Neuman, Jr., •on of the late Mrs. Joseph Neu. man, Sr., of Bancroft Tuesday morning at the St. John's Catholic church In Bancroft. The couple was attended by Mathilda and Frank Neuman, sister and brother of the groom. The bride was attired in a gown of white satin and lace and a silk veil with a train. She carried a bouquet of pink roses and white asters. The bridesmaid was attired in a gdwn of dark blue with accessories to match. She carried a bouquet of yellow chrysanthemums and yellow asters. The bride has grown to womanhood in the Seneca community and attended the Seneca consolidated school. For the past year she has been employed at the Johnson Bros, home northeast of Seneca. Mr. Neuman spent the early part of his life on a farm two and one- half miles east of Seneca. They moved from there to a farm north of Bancroft Those from Seneca who attended the wedding 1 were Frank Looft and daughter. Florence, Albert Johnson. Margie Lenihan and Leon Johanson. Doteoni Host and Hostess Mr. and Mrs. Clem Dotson entertained a number of friends and neighbors at a card party at their home Tuesday evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hoeck. Woodrow Kracht and Clarence Saxton received high prize and Mrs. C. O. Bailey and G. Kracht received low prize. Those who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Saxton and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Burt, Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Merrill, Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Bailey, Mrs. J. J. Drlnnan and Kalph, Mr. and Mrs. Harley Hoeck, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hoeck and the G. Kracht family. Mr. and Mrs. Hoeck were presented with a radio lamp as a remembrance gift. At 4-H Banquet Miss Regina Berens and the following 4-H girls from Seneca attended the 4-H banquet at Algona Tuesday evening: Evelyn Clemenson, Dorothy and Blizaboth Burt, Lois Looft, Berdyne Smith, Noradel and Gladys Dotson and Dorothy Hoeck. Seneca Wins Two The Seneca girls' and boys' basketball teams met the Haifa basketball teams on the Seneca floor Tuesday evening. The Seneca teams won both games, the girl by a score ——«*• Mlo 17 and the boys 38 to 9. Marie Geltzenauer of Armstrong: is employed at the Johnson Bros, home. Evelyn Clemenson spent Tuesday night with her friend, Berdyne Smith. Dorothy and Elizabeth Burt spent Tuesday night with their friends, Lois and Florence Looft. Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Denton and son, Jerome, spent Sunday In Webster City visiting at the Oscar and Jim Kepler home. Mrs. Denton is a sister of Mr. Kepler. The Helpful Thursday club met at the home of Mrs. O. R. Patterson Thursday afternoon, Nov. 19th. The meeting was a week early because of the regular meeting date falling on Thanksgiving. On Wednesday night they went to Wesley and the boya won and the girls lose. At Vernon Consolidated school Friday night both LuVerne teams were victorious.
