He was a' member of the Marshall V.F.W., Clark County American Legion Post 90 and St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He married Dorothy Rhoads in 1948. Mr. Cearlock was born in Vandalia, son of Thomas and Rebecca Cearlock. He was retired from Crane Packing Vandalia. He married Myrtle Meyer in 1911. Surviving are his wife; son, Marvin of East Peoria; brother, Henry of Vandalia; sister, Vera Casey of Kinkaid.

One daughter and four sisters preceded him in death. Connor BEECHER CITY Mrs. Wilson (Violet Slifer) Connor of Beecher City died 11 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 11, 1987) in Lakeland Nursing Home, Effingham.

Mrs. Connor was born in Pana, daughter of Noble and Martha Slifer. She married Wilson Connor in 1924. Surviving are her husband; son, Harry of Lindenwood; daughter, Mrs.

Earl (Carolyn) Musser of Beecher City; sister, Florence Barr of Beecher City; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Two brothers preceded her in death. Crippen IUKA Elbert H. Crippen, 79, of Iuka died Wednesday (Feb. 11, 1987) in his home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in New Bethel Church, east of Salem. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Rankin Funeral Home, Salem. Burial will be in Summitt Prairie Cemetery, rural Salem.

Mrs. Hise was born in Milltown, daughter of Soloman and Annie Sullens. She was retired from Garment Industries. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Wabash Fellowship Club and the Rebekah Lodge. She married Charles Tarter.

He preceded her in death. She married Wade Hise. He died in 1973. Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Lyle (Christine) Conway of North Pekin; sister, Fannie Dudley of Winter Garden, 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren.
