Decatur AUTON Jake Auton, 60, of 2002 N. Lowber St. died at 7:05 a.m. Wednesday in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m.

Friday in the J. J. Moran Sons Funeral Home, where friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Mr. Auton was born in Ston-ington, a son of John and Carrie Davis Auton. He was owner and operator of Jake's 66 Service Station. He leaves a son, James of Decatur; brothers, John, Jessie! and Albert "Ted," all of Decatur; sisters, Mrs. Leroy (Dorothy) Chaney of Decatur and Mrs.

Laura Gorman of West Virginia; and seven grandchildren. One brother and two sisters preceded him in death. GRANT Carl E. Grant, 68, of Chicago, formerly of Decatur, died at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday in West Side Veterans Hospital in Chicago.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Dawson Wikoff Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mount Gilead Cemetery. Mr. Grant was bom in Des Moines, Iowa, a son of Milton G. and Mabel Munson Grant.

He was a painter and veteran of the Army in World War II. He married Mabel Moyer on June 1, 1924. Mr. Grant is survived by his wife; one son, Carl Jr. of Decatur; one daughter, Mrs.

Bernard (Marian) Romano of Chicago; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sen preceded him in death. VEECH Mrs. Hayden (Ella Veech. 95, of 28 First Dr. died at 11:58 p.m.

Tuesday in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Dawson Wikoff Funeral Eoia where friends may call after 5 p.m. Thursday Burial will be in Fairlawn Mausoleum. Mrs.

Veech was born in Decatur, a daughter of Lewis and Anna Wallace Myers. She was member of North Fork Presby terian Church, Owen Scott Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Non-High School District Board and a charter member of the Macon County Home Bureau Long Creek unit. She was married to Hayden Veech on Feb. 23, 1898, in Decatur. He died in June, 1938.

Surviving are sons, Lloyd M. and Lewis both of Decatur; Lynn H. of Hollywood, sister, Mrs. Betty Wheeler of Mount Zion; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. One brother and one sister preceded her in death.
