and Grace Bates and the husband of Reah (Nee Pickering) Bates He was a graduate of Ocean City High School and Alfred Institute of Rochester NY He was an US Army Airforce veteran of WWII He was in the battle of the Rhineland and received the following decorations European African Middle Eastern Ribbon Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal He was employed with the US Postal Service and retired in 986
