The "one-armed bandits" were seized by federal agents and were to have been sunk at tea. Herbert Willey, salvage officer for the Boston Chamber of Commerce, suggested they be used for scrap metal to help defense efforts. Paul G. Carney, National Production Authority agent, agreed it was a good idea.
