(AP Wirephoto) Rockefeller To Defer On Press Queries WASHINGTON ' (AP) -- Vice President-designate Nelson A. Rockefeller has promised to release more information this week on his gifts- and loans, but he has clamped a lid on answers to reporters' questions until he resumes congressional testimony on his nomination. In a two-page statement Tuesday night, Rockefeller said "it has become physically impossible to do the research and obtain all the information requested by the press" while at the same lime fulfilling responsibilities to his family and congressional investigators. "Therefore, I am deferring answering further questions until 1 appear in person before the congressional committees,"| he said. ' The Senate Rules Committee has recalled the multi-millionaire to testify Nov. 13 amid disclosures that he made gifts or forgave loans totaling nearly $2 million to public officials and staff aides during his 15 years as governor of New York, and owed about $1 million in federal taxes and interest for disallowed deductions. The House Judiciary Committee is to conduct hearings on President Ford's nomination of Rockefeller after the Senate panel has completed its probe. Rockefeller said he would make public this week a list of all political contributions of less than $3,000 by himself and his wile between 1957 and Oct. 1 and all loans to inividuals during the same period.
