Joe (Mary Ellen) Irons, 83, of 3 Central Dr. died at 5:45 a.m. today in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St.

Thomas Catholic Church, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday in J. J. Moran Sons Funeral Home.

There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. Thursday. Mrs. Irons was born in Ivesdale, a daughter of Tobias and Catherine Sheridan Burke. She was a resident of Decatur for most of her life.

Mrs. Irons was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. She was married to Abraham Willard, who died in 1914. She was then married to Joe Irons in 1929.

He died in February, 1951. Mrs. Irons leaves sons, Henry Burke Willard, with whom she lived; Charles Robert Willard of Forsyth; 2 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. Decatur's third annual sectional tournament of the Central Illinois Bridge League will be held June 4-6 at the Sheraton Inn. About 200 tables of duplicate bridge will be played at the tournament, according to local chairman Mrs. Robert Shulke. Masters and nonmasters pairs will be played at 1:30 p.m. June 4 and men's and women's pairs will be played at 8 p.m. June 4.

June 5th's schedule will include qualification rounds for open pairs at 1:30 p.m., with the final and consolation rounds at 7:30 p.m. A Swiss teams game, with sessions at 12:30 and 6 p.m., will be played June 6.
