He had been in ill health for tome time and critically ill for the past two weeks. He was graduated from the Uni' versify Law School, and he and Mrs. Clayton, the former Miss Bess Hudgins of Fayetteville, moved from here to Hemet, Calif., where (hey lived for a number of years. He was the son of the late John M. Clayton, and a nephe of the late Powell Clayton, who served as governor of Arkansas. Tr. addition to his v/ife, he is survived by a brother, Powell Clayton, of Boston, Mass., and a ! number of 'nieces and nephews. .'
