Your cards and etters kept his courage high during long months of pain. Perhaps you'll remember: Tim's Christmas · wish back in 1972 was for a bicycle, because ae "just knew" his legs would come back to life soon. New, five hospitals and as ..iany operations later, Tim is determined that he'll walk out ot Children's Specialized Hospital, Weslfield - Mountainside, N.J. -- in braces or on crutches as have several of buddies. Still confined to bed or a wheel chair, Tim has been at Mountainside 11 months, this time. But his goal is postponed again. Recently he broke his ankle (a paralytic's bones arc very brittle) and that means more waiting. Withall, Tim is a cheerful, outgoing boy, an avid sports fan whose favorites are the New I York Mots. But sometimes the days get long for an immobilized 10-year-old. His family can see him only during the h o s p i t a l ' s daily two-hour visiting period, and so he depends a great deal on mail to keep him company. A n ' e x - cellent article in the July Newark Star-Ledger brought temporary pen friends but often people only write once... Again we're asking, won't you send cards and 'letters to: Tim Copelanc Children's Specialized Hospila 150 New Providence Road Wcstficld-Mountainsicio N. J. 07091 P.S. Cheering notes to Mrs and Mrs. Copeland would help also. Dear Helen: Thanks AT 82 Another year is ending and I'll soon be 82. I have some thoughts on getting old that I'll pass on to y o u : There is an old quotation that people often say: "It's not the years that you have lived, but how you feel today!" But this has double meaning, cpendlng oil the breaks -- It's real if you feel chipper, not o. if full of aches. Tie things that drive fathers crazy at drive-ins don't exist at Bonanza. First of all, at Bonanza you don't eat in your car. You sit in a comfortable chair and eat at a table, like a decent human Second, you have a big menu at Bonanza. Which means you're not limited to burgers. You have a choice of steak, shrimp, or fish dinners. And because your kids don't us- Hlflhway 71 North Carry-Out Available PhoiM 521-3565 ually want anything but hamburgers, French fries and a soft drink, we serve that, too. Finally, our prices are as low as those of a drive-in, In fact, we even give you a few extras. You can drink as much coffee as you like, and pay for only one cup. And there's no tipping. It's no wonder fathers who hata to eat in drive-ins, like to eat at Bonanza. But listen h a v e to the the ones vhose aches are worse!" But this Is quite Impotsftle if one lives o n and on. For nature lakes its toll each year and one by one they're gone. The saying that I like the most is one we all should heed; it sums it up so sensibly and this is how It reads: "D» not complain of getting old, a privilege granted you, It is denied to many, and given just to few."
