Baxter Made Honorary Member Of Business Frat Alpha chapter nf Beta Gamma Sigma, national organization colleges of business administraton, initiated 18 University students as new members last night in its annual i n i t i a t i o n banquet in Ferguson's Dining Room, and made L. L. Baxter, Fayellcville, president of Arkansas Western Gas Company, an honorary member Eugene Lambert, Jr., was elected president for the next semester, and Cecil N. Melvin was elected vice president. Members, initiates, and their guests attended the banquet. Mrs. Suzanne McWhorter, retiring preside"!, pre- ·ided. Dr. Harold Dulan Rave the invocation, and Prof. Robert E. Hay spoke. Prof. John Kane presented Mr. Baxter, and Dean Paul Milam gave the honorary key to the utility president. Undergraduate students i n i t i a t ed were Luther C. Bigfrs, Rober E. Hall, Suzanne McWhortor, Franklin W. MidcHeton, George W. Vest, Charles R. Belva, Lyle E. Bethunc, Billy R. Jones, James N. Davis, Jr., Charles Churchweli. Frankie Joan Redding, Eugene W. Lambert, Jr., Cecil N. Melvin, and fiobert E. Thompson. Graduate students initiated were J. T. Scott, Lewis Callison, Tony G. Wakin, and Neal Moore. The organization is open only to students in the scholastic upper 10 per cent of their class. Its purpose is to stimulate and encourage scholarship.
