BETTER FARMS ER LIVI\G Seventh Annual FARM EDITION APRIL 18, 1952 Arkansas is essentially an agricultural state, and nowhere in the state is farming more f r u i t f u l to the man and woman living in the rural c o m m u n i t y t h a n in Northwest Arkansas. We have a diversified agriculture, with chickens, dairy cows, beef cattle, hogs, turkeys and fine pasture programs, all playing their part. Recently a number of men and women from other states have come to this section to follow their life's work -- in many instances the raising ol f i n e , blooded livestock. They arc welcome. May they add to the areas in which they live and help us in this section to build an ever better agricultural program. This Seventh A n n u a l Farm Edition is presented as picturing a portion of f a r m i n g pursuits in Northwest Arkansas. It is impossible to cover the whole field as it may be found, but this issue includes stories and pictures concerning many of the people who raise and market f a r m products. The rural population of Northwest Arkansas is made up of progressive, forward looking folk who follow better farming practices. As they prosper and advance, so docs the whole section of the state. To them we doff our hat and make our bow. It is entirely true that better f a r m i n g makes better living for us all,
