WASHINGTON (AP - The House Judiciary Committee, in the final report on its impeachment inquiry, found former President Richard Nixon in violation of criminal laws, his oath of office and the Constitution. The report, made public today, concludes that Nixon di reeled the Watergate cover-up abused his powers by author izing illegal wiretaps and inter fering will) executive agencies and attempted to undermine (be impeachment process defying subpoenas for evidence. In addition, il states that on 22 occasions, Nixon made false and misleading statements on Watergate "as part of a deliberate, contrived, continued deception of the American eople." Tlin report was intended to be he centerpiece of a historical House debate on three articles impuchinent approved last month by the Judiciary Coin- niltee. But on Aug. 9 Nixon resigned, advised by Republican congressional leaders that im- )cachmcnt by the House and conviction and removal from office by the Senate were inevitable. His resignation left the report as the final statement of the impeachment drama. The 523-page document contains a description ot the Wa ergale break-in and cover-lit with specific acts pointing to Nixon's involvement. vvhicl forms the basis for the first ar ticle of impeachment. The document also contains arguments and evidence in sup port ot the other two articles and separate and dissenting views by committee members. Two Men Face Sentencing Monday NEWPORT, A r k .
