W i l l i a m Howard Magru- dcr, U. S. Navy, died Tuesday at Hethcsda Naval Hospital after an illness of several months. He was director of the fiscal .division of the Bjroau of Ships u n t i l he was detached from duty hecause of illness last October. He was born at Sprlngdale March 11, 1BB8, the son of W i l l i a m Howard and B e l l e Johnson MaRruder, and was a resident of KayeUcville u n t i l the time of his appointment to the U. S. Naval Academy in 1917. He was graduated from the Academy 1921, and in 1926 received a master of science, in naval architecture degree from the Mass- w«s unn«essary that he be consulted. In reply to a question, Lambert said that he personally probably would not have employed a property owner as an appraiser, but that it was conceivable that an owner could do a f a i r Job. Lambert corroborated that the commission had been advised informally t h a t It might lose federal aid op the project, which was part ot Highway C4-71, because o! excessive right-of-way cost. The grading of the remodeled highway has been carried out and bridges and other structures have been built. The ultimate aim is for a divided two-lane highway.
