HELEN HELP US By HELEN AND SUE BOTTEL Teen Wants Right To Be Wrong Again If you can afford to feed your family at a drive-in, you can afford to take them to Bonanza. Like drive-ins, Bonanza isn't expensive. But unlike drive-ins. Bonanza is a haven for fathers. First, you don't eat at Bonanza. You dine here. You hove your food at a table, like a decent human being. Not in a car like a sardine. Second you eat what you want. Not what your kids want. You can choose from all kinds of steak, shrimp, and fish dinners. And because your kids are entitled to a choice, too, they can have Hamburger, French fries and a soft drink, or a special kiddy-sized dinner. Finally, Bonanza has nice little rules. For example, there's no tipping. And you can drink as many cups of coffee as you like and pay for only one cup. Now, if Bonanza can give you all this in a restaurant, at drive-in prices, why eat at a drive-in? The family restaurant father could love. Dear Parents of C.F.: Give your daughter the right to be wrong! Who knows, she might even be right about Dave, this time.--Sue Dear Helen And Sue: As a pre-med student, I'm interested in saving lives. I read a doctor's suggestion recently that 1 think should be pushed to the limit. He says: Why not pass a law thai every sleeping pill or similar sedative must contain a small dose of an emetic such as ipecac? The tiny amount in one or two pills couldn't cause vomiting, but if many pills were swallowed in an attempted sui cide (or by a forgetful drunk) they wouldn't stay down long enough to cause death. This simple suggestion would save many lives. Right? -- J.B. Dear J.: Maybe. Our doctor points out there's possible danger here too. Consider the case of the forgetful drunk, He (or she) takes a couple of sleeping pills dozes off, awakes,' pops a few more out of habit, finally drops into a light coma. If vomiting should start at this stage, death by choking or inhaling food particles might follow--Helen and Sue DENNIS THE MENACE Ketehom Northwest Arkanrot TIMfS, Sort., JUIM 23, 1*74 rAVITTIVILLt, AHKAMUI LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Co tedian Redd Koxx, who ·alked out of the television erics "Sanford and Son" ear- er 'this year, will return to ·ork July 8, Tandem Produc- ions has announced. "Aimlessness" isn't a required Dear Helen And Sue: What happens when your children grow up to be people you don't like? We enjoyed one another while they were young. They had terrific potential to make good lives for themselves. But they went to college, and everything fell apart. They are 25 and 27, lost in a fog of messy idealism, terrifically unhappy, but won't admit it. (They say they enjoy livins aimlessly.) We never see them except when we go to check on them, which they resent. Do we simply forget we have these older sons, as they seem to want? And what about our 16-year- old? Since the trouble for the others started in College, isn't it wise to insist that he doesn't go on to so-called higher edu- ation? We'd like to think we've had a least one success out of three.-- Despairing Parents Dear Parents: I'm not sure what you mean .by "messy idealism," and "liv- STARTS THURSDAY Op«t-8:OOeShowtiiTM 8:45 -PIUS- THE NEPTUNE FACTOR THE HOT DELIVERS!
