Born in Homburg, Germany, Mr. Polandick was the son of the late Joseph and Agnes Siher Polandick. His wife, Elizabeth (Monstrolla) Polandick, died in 1992. He was formerly of Pittsburgh.

Mr. Polandick was a member of Hebron Lutheran Church in East Pittsburgh, PA. He retired in 1966 from Westinghouse, Pittsburgh, where he had been a machinist for 44 years. He was a member of Dallas Lodge 508 and Syria Temple, both in Pittsburgh. He was also a member of Forest Hills Lions Club, where he was named Lion of the Year on several occasions.

Mr. Polandick was an avid bowler. He is survived by a daughter, Carol P. (William Neely of Blacksburg, VA; brother of Charles Polandick; five grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Donald and Herman, Jr.
