Stephenson, last night. Mr. Warren left this morning for Kansas City to visit his daughter. Captain H. J.

City Teachers Fired a Bunch of Resolutions at a Speaker. The last meeting of the city teachers for this school year was held at the Washington building yesterday afternoon. The program given was as follows: Solo, Lawrence Powers Smith; reading, Miss Hallie Gasaway; duet, Misses Emily and Ruth Lawrence. Dr. F.

C. Herr was to have given the address for the afternoon, but was unable to be present. Miss Tirzah Aiken, Everett Atchison and H. P. Study were appointed on a committee to draft some resolutions to the doctor.

The resolutions follow: "In behalf of the teachers of the public schools of Ottawa, we, the undersigned members of the committee on resolutions do hereby the following: Whereas On the twelfth day of May the teachers of the city schools assembled for the third time to listen to a masterful address by our, esteemed fellow townsman and honored member of the school board, Dr. F. C. Herr Whereas It was an educational address which had been especially prepared for the teachers of Ottawa, and Whereas This address is so far above comparison with other addresses of like nature, so replete with wit and humor, so powerful in its cogent reasoning, so far reaching in its application, so sublime in its rhetorical climaxes, and Whereas The teachers were so inspired and benefited by the language, thought and oratory of this remarkable address Be it resolved First, that we extend to F. C.

Herr, M. Ph. our most profound thanks for this, the greatest of all addresses ever delivered before the august body of educators of the public schools of Ottawa. Second, that the genial doctor be asked to have this speech published in pamphlet form for the benefit of an eager constituency. Third, that a copy, of these resolutions be handed to Dr.

P. Elder will return from Excelsior Springs tomorrow. Mrs. Elder and Miss Dee Elder will remain there some time. Mrs.

S. F. Beeler returned last night from Kansas City, where she attended the commencement of the Kansas City dental college. Mrs. Donahue and Miss Clevelin, of Kansas City, are guests of Mr.

and Mrs. John O'Niel. Mrs. Donahue and Mrs. O'Neil are sisters.

Doc Bixler returned last night from Hutchinson, where he was the guest of his brother, C. J. Bixler. His brother's wife has been quite sick. The newspaper headline writers and editorial nloralists Ure" doing great work with the proclamation from the stricken town of Snyder to the world "Send your bill with the goods; Snyder will pay all accounts" in spite of the fact that Snyder's real message to the public is, "We need help badly, and will appreciate anything you can do for us." All of which goes to show that the man with a sermon to preach or newspaper space to fill doesn't need facts necessity being the mother to his text.
