Action Her Loan Goes Awry On Aug 22 my daughter had an interview at our home with a salesman who represents a career school in Penn sylvania The course seemed quite attractive and costly for a three month course but my daughter was elated and wanted to enroll The course was to be financed through a student loan I made it clear to the salesman that I get the loan and he assured me it would be handled through the bank We then signed for the $195 deposit and the financing After this time I tried to reach this man to find out what was going on I could never reach him inally I contacted the school directly They knew nothing of any student loan and said it would be impossible to get one from their bank anyway We then decided to cancel out On the enrollment 'agreement it states if for any reason you attend the school only $95 is refund able I feel that the salesman misrepresented the school not only on the student loan but also several minor differences I also feel a full refund is justified I wrote to the school on Oct 6 but got nothing I then called on Oct 31 and tried to explain my problem All I could get was it takes at least two months for a refund to be made I might add a friend of my daughter also signed for the same course and the same holds true for her She follow through and just cancelled Any action you could take would be greatly appreciated like a full refund ECC Millville We contacted the career school and presented your problem and your problem to the school vice president The files were reviewed and be cause of the misunderstanding between each potential student and the school a full refund will be issued Since your daughter has received $95 a check for $100 has been sent Iler friend is receiving $195 Along with the refund conics apologies In the future be skeptical about promises a sales man makes always wise to check with the home office before yon make any final decisions COEE MUGS sick and tired of these mail order companies taking advantage of me Right now there are five com panies that haven't sent me the items I ordered All of them got my order over thrbe months ago our of the orders involve a nominal amount of money so I your time with them however this fifth company is the real problem I sent for 12 coffee mugs with our family name etched on them I saw them advertised in a home decor maga zine The cost came to $30 plus $175 for shipping I sent my check and expected to receive the mugs within eight This was six months ago written a dozen letters and received no replies 7 so upset that I even want the mugs any more want my money back I know of another com pany where I send for the mugs See if you can Ventnor With all the mail order hassles you have think you would have had enough but since you want a refund so you can order from another mail order house you've got it A spokesman for the company told us your order was misplaced He couldln't explain why you never re reived an answer to any of the letters you wrote Good luck!
