Steele, advertising contractor for the Chamberlain Medicine company, Des Moines, Iowa, was an agree able caller at this office Wednesday evening. He made a satisfactory con tract with tbe Bulletin for a liberal "chunk" of advertising for tbe company.

As this institution never uses medicines of any kind, it could not be a competent judge of the remedial agents sent out by tbe Chamberlain company, but having had business relations with the company for tbe past six years, can very truthfully say that no fairer dealing men are to be found In any country. The "Yankee Social" given by the Epworth League at Court Bell's ball was a suocess in all respects. The hall was beautifully decorated, and the motto, "Look Up," worked in red.wbtte and blue, adurned one end of tbe hall. There were over eighty persons present, principally adults. Seven tables were spread with a variety of articles, all under cover so that do one could see what the tables contained.

Each person was supplied with a card bearing seven numbers. Everyone had the privilege of guessing at toe contents of each table, and the person wbo should guess right on the contents of the seven tables was to receive the magnificent prise a set of "jack straws." Included io the same category was a guess on the height of the Cleveland hat. On this last-named article the guessing ran from seven and one half to thirteen inches. Dr. Dickson reports tbe arrival not altogether unexpected of a fine male specimen of tbe genus homo at Joe Rush's Thursday. It was a ten-pounder, and in splendid working condition.

It seems to be musically Inclined. Judge Romans informed Judge Pot ter that at no time since bis residence in tbe Hills bad there been so beavy a body of snow as at present. Should it go off with a Chinook or a beavy rain it would work desolation aud dire destruc tion to towns located in narrow gulches. Brown, formerly pastor of the Congregational church in this city, came up last week from Hot Springs for the purpose of attending a meeting of the board of trustees for the nqrmal school.
