FROM PAGE 1 First police on scene found crowd of corpses slashes, she said later from her hospital bed that she doesn't remember landing. At 9:08 a.m., an ambulance unloaded the first passenger at Ichilov Hospital, blood dripping from the stretcher.

Over the next 90 minutes, police bomb squads scoured the charred debris and nearby streets, fearing that Hamas, the Islamic terrorist group that claimed responsibility for the bus bomb, had planted additional explosives or booby traps. With the area secured, rescue workers could begin the gruesome of carrying away bodies and picking up scattered limbs, torsos and heads. The devastation was profound. The first police on the scene found bus parts dangling from power lines and its blackened shell crowded with corpses. Officers said most of the bodies were found "more or less intact." A few were torn apart.

Human limbs were recovered from apartments and offices three and four stories above the street. Black-coated employees of Hevra Kadisha, Israel's burial society, were seen carrying away 35 bags of bodies and body parts. The force of the blast is sure to make it difficult to prove the bomber was a suicide terrorist who carried the explosives aboard FROM PAGE 1 Authorities plan to show proof of relationship case of alleged perjury in Saline County. That case involved allegations they committed perjury during depositions taken as part of the custody case involving Flynn and Sheridan's daughter, Ashley. in a bag or strapped to his body, as authorities believe.

A woman who got off the bus one stop before the explosion told police she had noticed a "dark man in his 30s" carrying a large bag seated in the fifth row. Her information meshed with initial evidence about the likely location of the bomb; forensic experts found a large hole blown between the fourth and fifth rows. No one sitting in rows in front of the fifth will be able to report anything they noticed. All are dead. A judge ruled not enough evidence was shown by the prosecution to prove the couple lied when they denied having a romantic relationship.

Authorities say they plan to present to a jury proof that such a relationship did exist, and that it began shortly after Flynn joined Rollins' church. CORRECTIONS Because of a Journal error, a story in Wednesday's edition incorrectly stated the number of survivors from an August 21 car accident. Heather Oeltjen, 15, Abilene, also survived the accident that killed three members of the Sheldahl family. She is recovering at home. Because of a Journal error, a story in Wednesday's edition incorrectly stated that Clyde Bettes, owner of Bettes Auction aad Sales, 153 S. Fourth, had not paid his annual assessments to Salina Downtown Inc.

Although Bettes, who plans a petition protest of the organization, refused to pay the assessments in recent years, he earlier this year paid the outstanding balance when faced with legal action. Also, the story misstated the number of downtown business owners, which is 332..
