Swanson, ROBERT SWANSON was a member and former 1977 of the Academy of the Arts, a president Maryland of Insurance Agents, Inc. (1971), 1976 of the Business and Industry Talbot County Cancer Society, a the original steering, committee of Festival, a lifelong the Scouts of America. Other known Talbot County insurance company executive, died Saturday, June 16, 1984 after suffering an apparent heart attack at his home while washing his car. He was 61.

Born in Hartford, Conn. Oct. 30. 1922, he was the son of the late John T. 'and Anna Marie Swanson.

After graduating from the West Hartford High School and attending Butler University, he served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War I1. After his release from active duty, he returned to Hartford where began his career in insurance with the National Fire Insurance Co. In 1946, he was transferred to their Baltimore office where he worked until moving to Easton in 1954 to join the German and Hersloff Insurance Co. This company was later reorganized and he became the vice president of German.

Hersloff and Swanson, Inc. as the company is now known. Active in the community, he was a member and chairman of the Easton Planning and Zoning Commission, a former member of the board of directors of Memorial Hospital, a member and past trustee of the Easton Elks Lodge a member and past president of the Easton Lions Club and a member and past commodore of the Chesapeake Bay Yacht Club. Mr. Swanson treasurer in former vice Association chairman in sector of the member of the Waterfowl interest in memberships included the Talbot Country Club, the Tred Avon Yacht Club and Talbot Post American Legion.

In June. 1969, he married Jeanne Cox Swope, by whom he is survived. Other survivors include three daughters. Linda R. Swope of Richmond, Robin A.

Dundrea of Houston, Texas, and Theodora H. Johnson of Lenoir, N.C.; two sisters. Edith Petersen of West Hartford, and Joanne Lindahl of Farmington, two grandchildren, Matthew Dundrea and Michael Dundrea. Memorial services will be at United Church in on Eastonar Tuesday, June 19 at 11 a.m. The Rev.

Dr. Edward R. Wilkins, minister of the church, will officiate. He will be assisted by the Rev. Harold M.

Davis. a former minister of the church. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family Memorial donations may be made to the Memorial Hospital at Easton, Md Inc. or to the Talbot County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1143.

Easton. Md. 21601. Funeral arrangements are by the Newnam Funeral Home in Easton Mary Miller WASHINGTON Mary Evelyn Miller of Church Hill, a former FBI employee and store department manager, died Thursday, June 14, 1984. at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C.

She was 55. Born in Queen Anne's County, she was the daughter of Ellen Sparks Everett of Church Hill and the late John F. Everett. Mrs. Miller worked for the FBI in Washington and later managed departments in several department stores.

In addition to her mother. she is survived by her husband. John Cosden Miller; a son, Robert Francis Miller of Kancoh, Hawaii; a brother, Jack Everett Chestertown: a sister, Louise 'Schaubert of Chestertown. and a grandchild. Funeral services were held Sunday.

June 17 at Church Hill United Methodist Church. The Rev. Colleen O'Sullivan of Church Hill United Methodist Church officiated. Burial was at Church Hill Cemetery. The family requests that contributions be directed to the Church Hill Volunteer Fire Co.

Arrangements are by the Tom Helfenbein Funeral Home in Church Hill. Robert Barnes CENTREVILLE Robert Stanley Barnes of Stevensville died Thursday. June 14, 1984 at the Meridian Nursing Center -Corsica Hills. He was 84. Born in Baltimore.

he was the son of Edward G. and Margaret Gamber Barnes. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1920 to 1923 and married Lenora Patterson of Lumberton, N.C. Mr.

Barnes retired from the Baltimore City Fire Department with 25 years service in 1954. a well- He then started his own painting contracting business, from which he retired in 1974. He was a member of Sharon Lodge 182 A.F. A.M. in Reistertown, the Scottish Rite, Baltimore, the Boumi Temple, Baltimore, and the Island Idlers.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Wallace M. Barnes of Stevensville, three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Tom Helfenbein Funeral Home in Chester today at 11 a.m. Rev. Robert Gourlay officiate.

Burial will be at Stevensville Cemetery. now Edward Kerns Jr. CENTERVILLE Edward Divine Kerns Jr. of Chester died Wednesday, June 13, 1984, at the Meridian Nursing Center in Centreville. He was 89.

Born in Baltimore, he was the son of Edward Divine Kerns 'Sr. and Laura Kerns. Mr. Kerns served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War.

He operated an auto parts business at Marlin Farms, Chester, until retiring in 1967. His wife was the late Helen M. Stevens Kerns. Mr. Kerns is survived by a son, Douglas Kerns of Chester; a sister, Laura Miller of Baltimore; two grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services and burial will be private. Arrangements are by the Tom Helfenbein Funeral Home. Frederick Baynard GREENSBORO Frederick D. Baynard Sr. of Harrell Street, Greensboro, a retired Pet Milk employee, died Saturday, June 16, 1984 at Memorial Hospital at Easton.

was 76. tie Born June 12, 1908 in Greensboro, he was the son of James and Elizabeth Eveland Baynard. He had been a Pet Milk Co. employee in Greensboro for 44 years before retiring in 1970. His wife, Dorothy Hobbs Baynard, died in 1979.

His son, Frederick D. Baynard died in 1974. Mr. Baynard is survived by one grandson, Frederick Lee Baynard of Chicago; one granddaughter, Bonnie Lou Manuel of Salisbury; one brother, Norman Baynard of Greensboro, and one great Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 19 at 2 p.m. at the Boulais Funeral Home in Greensboro.

Born in Ridgely, he was the son of the late Florence Lister and George Harris. He worked as a food processor at a chicken plant in Federalsburg. Mr. Harris is survived by his wife, Bertie Collins Harris; four sons, Amos Harris of American Corners, Junior Harris of Cordova, Buddy Harris of Annapolis and Harvey Harris of Federalsburg; two daughters, Betty Ebling of Federalsburg and Esther Quinn, from G.A.; 12 grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Framptom- Hawkins Funeral Home, Federalsburg, on Tuesday, June 19 at 1 p.m.

Born in Greensboro, he had made Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

his home since 1955. He was a charter member of the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders HBPA, Florida, and a life member of the jockey guild. Mr. Dabson is survived by his wife, Charlotte L. Dabson, a daughter, Betty Lou LaBrie of Queenstown, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 19 at 11 a.m. at the Fred Hunter Funeral Home in Ft. Lauderdale. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Greensboro Cemetery.

Willson, who created "'The Music Man," an award-winning, hit Broadway musical and film about a huckster who hoodwinks a small town but repents for love, died Friday at the age of 82.
