Wiiliam Atchison David Freeze Cruisers report theft of radar detector DECATUR Four young people cruising Eldorado Street told Decatur police they were robbed at gunpoint of a radar detector around 12:25 a.m. Saturday. The foursome said they had just driven into the upper rear lot of a restaurant in the 1000 block of West Eldorado when a man leaned in the passenger's window, produced a handgun and demanded money, according to reports. When the group told him they had none, he demanded the radar detector.

He then fled in a waiting car. Police said the radar detector was valued at $50. Fireworks charge ignites suspect DECATUR A man Decatur police arrested Friday night on an illegal fireworks charge proved to have an explosive temper. In fact, the 36-year-old Decatur man was hot enough to become booked on three counts of aggravated battery and two counts of resisting arrest. Police were investigating a complaint about illegal fireworks discharges in the 400 block of South Siegel Street at 8:54 p.m.

Sentenced to six months in the Macon County Jail June 28. Cedric L. Cunningham, also known as Sedrick Cunningham, age unavailable, 300 block Longview Place: possession of weapons by felons; unlawful use of weapons. Accused of possessing a pistol having Freeze Family Fund. Mr.

Freeze was born June 7, 1918, in Knoxville, the son of Palo and Martha Birdwell Freeze. He was a retired laborer from the Laborer's Union 159 after 50 years of service. He was an Army veteran of World War II, where he served in the 96th Division, 363rd Field Artillery Unit in the Philippines and Okinawa. He was also a past member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He married Lora Lucille Elam on July 5, 1941, and they just celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary.

Surviving are his sons, David O. Freeze Jr. of Delano, Charles W. Freeze and Robert L. Freeze both of Decatur; Kenneth L.

Freeze of Delano, daughter, Paula Jo Hyde of Tuscola; foster children, Sue Gilbert of Virginia; Lucretia Coleman of California; Leland Scharfer of Centralia; brothers, Charles Freeze of Missouri; Donald Ouder-kirk; sisters, Francis Rowe and Mary King, both of Independence, 11 grandchildren; eight foster grandchildren; 11 stepgrand-children; two great grandchildren; three foster greatgrandchildren; one great-step-grandchild. His parents and three sisters preceded him in death. Hodges MAROA Earl "Pete" Hodges, 82, of Maroa died Saturday (July 10, 1993). Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Brintlinger's Funeral Home with visitation 6 to 8 p.m.

Monday. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Moweaqua. Memorials: Maroa Christian Church. Mr. Hodges was born March 7, 1911, in Stonington, the son of Welcome Frank and Mary Elizabeth Bilyeu Hodges.

He retired from farming and Caterpillar Inc. He served 30 years as an elder of the Maroa Christian Church and bowled in a senior bowling league. He married Marguerite Sims on Oct. 30, 1937. Surviving are his wife; daughters, Phyllis Michels and husband Charles of Warrensburg; Carol Gooch and husband Dean of Decatur; grandson, David Munson and wife Jean of Decatur; granddaughter, Diana McQueen of Decatur; five stepgrandchildren, Dawn, Jeff and Patrick Gooch, Matthew Michels and Christina Johnstone; four great-grandchildren; seven great-stepgrandchil-dren; brother, Matt Hodges of Stonington; sister, Mary Uhl of Taylorville; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, two sisters and five brothers. Patterson DECATUR Russell E. "Pat" Patterson, 77, of Decatur died 5:10 a.m. Friday (July 9, 1993) in his residence. Novellino DECATUR Louise Novellino, 74, of Oxnard, died Tuesday (July 6, 1993) in Oxnard, Calif.

Mrs. Novellino was born Aug. 1, 1918, in Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Bertha Brand Swingle, She was a homemaker. Surviving are her sons, Beny P. Novellino and wife Roberta and Anthony J.

Novellino both of California; grandsons, Anthony J. Novellino III, Michael A. Novellino, Tino Novellino and Chris Novellino, all of California. She was preceded In death by two great-grandchildren. Schncberger DECATUR Stella E.

Ware DECATUR Howard A. Ware, 78, of Decatur died 8:19 a.m. Thursday (July 8, 1993) in Decatur Memorial Hospital. at the Hirkorv Point Mall Feb. Decatur Memorial Hospital Hospice.

Mr. Atchison was born May 31, 1913, in Lovington, the son of Hal and Grace Kearney Atchison. He was a former member of the Methodist Church in Lovington and was affiliated with the Oakley Brick Church. He was a longtime farmer in the Oakley area and retired in 1978 from Mallinckrodt Pharmaceutical Company after 10 years of service. He married Pauline Hoke on July 20, 1941.

They have been married 51 years. Surviving are his wife, Pauline; children, Sue and husband Kenneth Lake of Decatur; Terry and wife Mary Atchison of Platte City, Charlotte and husband Bill Smith of Paris, Bob and wife Mary Atchison of Marion, brother, Jack Atchison and wife Betty of Forsyth; several grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, George and O.T. "Tom." Buckles MOUNT PULASKI Helen Frances Buckles, 91, Mount Pulaski, died Friday (July 9, 1993). He married Faye Maddy in February, 1937. She preceded him in death April 4, 1982. Surviving are his sister, Iona M. Jones of Decatur; nephews, Robert Larus of Florida Ronald Ware of Florida; Michael Jones of Chicago; nieces, Marilyn Saris of Florida; Rena Runner of Florida; Shirley Wadkins of Ohio; Lorraine Fraiser of Decatur; Karen For-thun of Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
