B'hind The Bleachers By Lloyd F. Wallace Jr. rn Not Quite The Solution Remember the crowd problems that followed this year's Class A basketball finals in Ann Arbor If you don't it went something like this. Flint Northern upset Detroit Kettering with the latter's fans deciding that the place to be was on the court after the contest and the quickest way to get there was to go over, under or through the radio broadcasting equipment and the announcers which lined the out-of-bounds stripe. Everybody agreed afterwards that something had to be done about the crowds.

So a change was made. The Michigan High School Athletic Association revised the game starting times for the respective four classes. Anybody who wants to get in on next year's Class A 'festivities' will have to get there in the afternoon. The Class contest will be held in the morning as always with and moving to the night spot originally held down by the A game. The changes won't become official until the fall meeting of the MHSAA executive committee.

King And Court Here July 4 Reserve the afternoon of the Fourth of July for softball. The King and His Court are contracted to appear in Ludington thanks to the Mason County Softball Association. Eddie Feigner (the King), Doug Anderson, Al Jackson and Eddie Feigner Jr. (the Court) make up the world famous barnstorming team. Since Mason County is such a softball hotbed almost everybody knows about the King and His Court.

For those who don't, this is what it's all about. The King and His Court combine good, solid softball with showmanship. They use a pitcher, a catcher, a first baseman and one outfielder and beat everybody in sight. Feigner pitches the ball between his legs, behind his back, kneeling, from center field and blindfolded from second base with unbelievable accuracy. Major Leaguers Never Had A Chance Anybody who doubts the credentials of this guy has another think coming.

Against a major league All-Star team, Feigner faced Willie Mays, Willie McCovey and Brooks Robinson in one inning and Maury Wills, Roberto Clemente and Harmon Killebrew in another. Disastrous results For the major leaguers. They all struck out. In 24 years of barnstorming, the King has pitched in 4,712 games, winning 4,005 and losing 586. 121 ended as ties.

He has tossed 701 no-hitters, 190 of which were perfect games. Hardball pitchers of major league caliber have had their fast- balls clocked. Bob Feller, a Hall of Famer, had a hard one that was timed at 96.8 MPH while Ryne Duren, a reliefer with the Yankees who was renowned for his poor eyesight as well as an overpowering fastball, was clocked at 98.4 MPH. Feigner's hardest pitch was stopped at 104 MPH. Tickets for the exhibition which will pit the King and His Court against a local All-Star team can be obtained from Vic Burwell or at Larry's Pet Shop or the sports desk at the Daily News.
