North Bergen ire Chief Henry Andes died last night at North Hudson Hospital a day after un dergoing surgery for a stomach ailment Chief Andes ailing for several weeks expired at 10:15 pm as his wife and members of the North Bergen ire Department stood by at the hospital It is believed that the chiefs cousin Deputy ire Chief Warren Andes may be his successor How ever no official appointment has been made by Public Safety Com missioner Patrick Sullivan When notified of the fire chiefs death the commissioner said "It is a great shock to me He was a very personal friend of mine and a great fireman We of North Ber gen will certainly feel his APPOINTED IN 1624 Chief Andes who was 56 was born in North Bergen and resided at 8217 Grand Av He was appointed to the fire de partment on March 1
