They get broken or someone drives into it and sues." Greve said he will meet this week with Stiokis, the owner of All Pro, to review the way the towing company enforces the no-parking restriction. In response to a question, Greve said neither his company nor May Stern the owner of 933 Penn share in the towing proceeds. "That would be a conflict of interest," he said. "All Pro receives all towing proceeds." Roger Baumgarten, a spokesman for the labor and industry department, said that on Saturday, All Pro towed the car of a department employee who had come into work. Greve said the car was towed because the employee had an expired parking permit hanging from his mirror.

"He had a new permit but it wasn't visible. We apologized and he wasn't charged for the tow." Stiokis said it "would have been better" if his tow truck operator called the office before towing the car with the expired permit. "We would have tried to find out more about it before towing it," he said. Stiokis said he has 57 contracts to tow illegally parked cars from private lots. "There a are signs i in each of those lots warning people that only authorized cars are allowed to park there.

But some people think they can get away with it and park there. Then they get mad at me and my employees when we tow their car. "Look, this is not an easy business. "I had a guy sneak into my lot a week when I was on the phone and got into his car. When I went out to ask him if he completed all the paperwork and paid the tow, he started the car, knocked me down and drove away.

"Can you imagine the stupidity of someone like that? I have all the information about his car and will press criminal charges against him. Maybe he'll be more careful where he parks the next time."
