Elizabeth A. Butchko, 43, died at Mercy Hospital, Uptown, following the 2:50 a.m. accident. Butchko was driving west on Route 30 in Derry when she went through a red light at the intersection of Route 217, according to state police in Greensburg.

Butchko's car was struck on the driver's side door by another car driven by Scott Struble, 18, of Derry, after Butchko drove into the path of Struble's car, police said. Butchko was ejected as her car bounced off a guiderail and spun around. Struble a passenger, Megan Miller, 15, also of Derry, were not injured. Man killed in Aliquippa A man died of a gunshot wound to the chest in an apparent homicide in Aliquippa last night, authorities said. The shooting of the unidentified man in a home on Baker Street was reported about 9:30 p.m., and Aliquippa police were questioning individuals at the scene afterward.

Jennifer G. Westerman, 39, a passenger in Westerman's vehicle who is believed to be his wife, was taken to Brookville Hospital and later transferred to UPMC Presbyterian, where she remained in critical condition last night. Police said Wineberg was driving a 1991 Chevrolet Blazer north on State Route 36, about five miles south of Rose Township. For an undetermined reason, police said, Wineberg crossed into the southbound lane, striking Westerman's 1998 Toyota RAV4 nearly head on. Wineberg then struck a 1986 Ford truck that was driven by Curtis Burkett, 41, also of Coolspring, who was traveling south behind Westerman.

After hitting Westerman, Wineberg's vehicle traveled to the berm, where it caught fire. The Jefferson County coroner pronounced Wineberg and Westerman dead of multiple injuries at the scene. Burkett was treated at Brookville Hospital. Plant to be sold? The attempt to find a new user for the old Nabisco cracker factory could be reaching a key moment. "We are having discussions and we are optimistic that we may have some good news to report next week," Craig Kwiecinski, spokesman for Mayor Murphy, said yesterday.

"We have someone interested in the site, and it would be a similar user." Nabisco's 80-year-old factory in East Liberty was closed in the fall and nearly 250 people lost their jobs. East End development executives would not comment on the new prospect, fearing that the deal could fall through. U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum, who has been involved in trying to put the plant back to productive use, would not comment either.
