A small fkvtna from tba natural gas soon did It-s work, and Mis. Knowlton, without first turning off the gas from the Plato, removed the vessel containing the liniment. As she did so an oxsloolon occurred, tlio blase Irom tho gas communicating with the llciuid. In on instant Mrs Knowlton was enveloped tn names. She was lightly dressed and wore also a dressing sncque, With great presence of mind Mrs.

Knowlton uttered a scream and at oace proceeded to wrap the po'tlerea whleh were suspended from a polo in the room about her person and managed to extinguish the names. Mr. Knowlton had dropped off to sleep whilo his wl(e was preparing the remedy, but was soon awakened and hastened to bar assistance. Watkins of Wolcott was hastily called late Saturday afternoon to the Irvine Mclntyrc farm, two miles south of Wolcott, where John Woldon. a well-known resident of this place, had died suddenly. Mr, Weidon was In ojiay field on a load ot hay and James Kitchen was pitching tha hay up to him, Mr. Weidon was talking, and apparently In the best of spirits. Suddenly his volso ceased and Mr.

Kitchen looked up, but coulf see nothing of him. He called, and receiving no response climbed on the load, where he found Mr, Weidon dead and blood running from his nostrils. The coroner was at once called, and pronounced death duo to heart disease. Mr. Weidon was 47 years of age and had nlwnys resided In this vicinity.

Ho Is survived by ono son, Charles Weidon, and one daughter, Mrs, George Chase. Funeral services will be held to-morrow at 2 o'clock at the Methodist Protestant Church, Rev. James Pitts officiating. WATERLOO. WATERLOO.
