Cheshire They were without Paul Hargrave who had to drop out with an elbow injury and Brendan Hickerman so Mike Herridge and Nigel Millington were added to the squad of Murray Scott Kevin White Jason Walker and skipper Greg Loach Derbyshire put on a fine performance against Notts winning 3-2 and with their full team could have beaten the hosts Cheshire but only one team has promotion so Derbyshire remain in the division The Derbyshire ladies team were also playing at Brampton Manor against Cumbria and Cheshire The team of Tracey Thomas Gail Ballin Jane Turner Alison Watson Carolyn Smith and Tina Haye played well to beat Cheshire 3-2 but were outgunned 4-1 by Cumbria In the Derbyshire League Rolls Royce took a step nearer the Division Two promotion zone by beating Sandiacre who have been doing well since Trevor Tunnicliffe came in at number one If Rolls Royce can beat Topps Skegby in their next match it could make a very close finish for the second promotion spot The jostling for places continues in Division 4B Junction 24 must be disappointed they could not field either Paul Sumpter orNeiLj Overton as they Would have beaten The Manor 4 and kept the six teams even closer Lumb Farm had a strange defeat at Bradley House whom they beat at home 4-1 but only scrambled a lone point at Bradley House In Division One tonight Duffield will have a very close match with Ashby Road if Paul Hargrave is still unfit to play especially as Ashby Road are likely to be at full strength The Manor and Ling-4 field Carrington should collect maximum points unless there are any injuries and there will be a very interesting match at Callow Park as Richard Newsome at number two has returned to full fitness and has the capacity to beat Jason Feam of Brampton Manor while at number four John Beatall will be keen to inflict the same defeat on veteran John Robertson The balance will be at three and five and Angus MacDonald is keen to shake off first half defeats and beat Brampton captain Saturday and the nightmarish 5-2 home defeat against Sheffield United had never happened Teddy Sheringham dropped for that game after scoring only once in 12 games returned in brilliant style for last Rumbelows League Cup quarterfinal replay against Crystal Palace at the City Ground He scored his first Nottingham Forest hat-trick as Brian erratic side came from behind to win a pulsating tie The victory means they face Tottenham Hotspur in the semi-final first leg at the City Ground on Sunday But it had looked like more misery for Forest when Palace grabbed a 33rd minute lead Mark Bright meeting Eddie cross with a beautifully placed header Against Sheffield United Forest simply fell apart This time they roared back and effectively sealed the tie with three goals in eight minutes before half-time Sheringham headed in at the far post from Nigel left-wing cross and then drove in a low volley again after being set up by Clough In between remarkable captain Stuart Pearce scored for the third consecutive match jabbing it in from close range after Roy volley had been spectacularly saved by Nigel Martyn Palace were back in it when David Whyte cashed in on a defensive mix-up but
