Ladonia Couple to Note 50th Wedding Anniversary A couple who has lived in Lee Gilland, Mrs. Carl Smith, Mrs. MR. AND MRS. wed 50 HENRY years Supper And Games Party Held Tuesday A buffet supper and Canasta party were held by the Business and Professional Women's Club, Tuesday night in the parish hall of Holy Cross Episcopal Church.

The meal for 34 members and guests was prepared by members of Holy Cross Guild, the tables being decorated with arrangements of. zinnias and other garden flowers. During the brief business session at which Mrs. Lem presided, the club voted to set up a first aid booth at Lamar Fair grounds during Lamar District Fair Week, Aug. 25-30.

Guests were Miss Claudia Williams, new Lamar County home demonstration agent; Miss Marjorie Sullivan, visiting here from New Jersey, and L. A. Pickett. The radio-television committee, of which Mrs. Fay Pope Boyd is chairman, had charge of arrangements for the meeting.

P-TA's First Meet Planned Parent-Teacher Association members at First Ward School get acquainted at the unit's first meeting Sept. 18 at 7:30 p. m. at the school. The affair has been planned for the evening in order that all parents may attend.

Plans for this meeting and other activities of the year were outlined at a meeting of executive committee Wdnesday at the home of Mrs. Lester Mullens, 345-12th SE. Prayer was offered by Mrs. Rupert Still. Material for the coming year was distributed to officers and committee chairmen.

Eighteen members, including three teachers, C. M. Rushing, Miss Pauline Fodge and Mrs. Still, and the P-TA City Council president, Mrs. Edmond Castleberry, were present.

THIS WEEK THURSDAY 7:30 p.m. The Phebean Class of First Baptist Church will have a business and social meeting at the home of Mrs. Olvin Whitaker, 51G-4th NW, with Mrs. Elmer Whitaker, Mrs. Vernon Pretre and Mrs.

Gladys Wheeler as co-hostesses. 8 p.m. The Jaycee-Ettes will entertain with a benefit bridge and canasta party in the recreation room at Paris Junior College. FRIDAY 7:30 Roma Robinson Pre- School Association will have a Coke party at the home of Mrs. W.

C. White, 2025 E. Polk St. Recent Bride Is Honoree for Shower Honoring Mrs. Kenneth Baxter, the former Miss Wanda Smith, Mrs.

J. T. Bryan, Miss Ruth Bryan and Mrs. Henry IJarbuck entertained with a miscellaneous shower Tuesday evening at the Bryant home, 113 W. Oak.

Honoring Mrs. Evelyn Bridges, bride-elect of Joe Perry, the employees of Ayres Dry Goods Company entertained with a Coke party and miscellaneous shower at the store Tuesday morning. Refreshments were served. Fannin County all of their lives will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, August 24. They are Mr.

and Mrs. W. V. Henry of Ladonia, who will hold open house from 2 until 6 o'clock in observance of the event. The Henrys have lived in Ladonia the past 25 years.

Their nine children are: Mrs. Class of '42 Has Dinner Dance To Celebrate Reunion Paris News Service COOPER Tenth year anniversary of the Cooper High School class of 1942 was celebrated with a reunion Saturday night. A buftet dinner and dance were held at Delta Country Club. Edwin Fly welcomed members and guests, and read letters from class members unable to attend. Cameron McKinney read the class history and sang a solo, accompanied by Mrs.
