Sept. 12. The marked dollar of the Kirk family has returned. Torty years ago, 1 R. Kirk sent 100 new silver dollars to his parents'.

Mr. and Mrs. D. Kirk at Princeton. in honor of their 25th wedding anniversary.

The elder Kirk was no pleased with the gift that he scratched his initials. on six of the silver dollars and gave them to six grandchildren. Recently R. A. Kirk, who is a desk clerk at a local hotel, saw a silver dollar in the cash register on which initials had been scratched.

Upon examining it he found the dollar had been coined in 1SF5 and that the initials were D. Victory Highway Unit Completed RENO, Sept. 12. The Victory Highway between Reno and Verdi will be opened to traffic within thirty days with the completion of two bridges across the Truckee River.
