Zimbrick, pastor, performed the rite of confirmation and administered Holy Communion. Receiving tieir first communion were; Hans Steinhoff, Kannelore Steinhoff, Inez Eber, Karen Eber Helga Gengelbach, Peter Spilger, Eberhard Lotze and Donald Zimbrick. Edward Zimbrick. brother of Donald, conducted his first altar service Sunday morning. He recently completed his first year at Concordia Theological Seminary in Si.

Louis. Loretta presided at the organ and Mrs Grace Zimbrick led the singing of the choir. Harold and Donald Bauer served as ushers. Hans Steinhoff presented a hymn board to the congregation on behalf of the class. Holy Communion will be eele brated Sunday, July 4, with services beginning at 8:30 a.

m. Announcements for Communion should be made Friday and Saturday at the church from 7 to 9 ra. Robert Wiants Go to Chicago Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wiant of 1515 New' York will leave, Tuesday, July 6, for Chicago where they will attend the Annual National Association of Music Merchants Convention which will be held at the Palmer House.

The Convention features the very latest in instruments, music, studio management and teaching material. Performances by the top artists and educators in the Accordion World will highlight the various programs. Mrs. Laura Wiant, member of the Accordion Teachers Guild (International), will attend the A. T.

G. Workshop which offers advanced training for the progressive teacher. This training includes lectures, demonstrations, and teacher clinics, given by several of the best known aecord- I ion instructors. Mrs. Wiant is the teacher and director of the Alamo- gorda Holmes Accordion Group.

Charles Rowe of Alamogordo announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage dtf their daughter, Sarah Marie (Dollie) to Annong J. Franquelin, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Franquelin of 2401 Pacific Nappa, Calif.

Miss Rowe is a graduate of Austin High School, El Paso. She is a member of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority. She is a past member of the Order of Rainbow for Girls and a member of Alamogordo Chapter 11 of Eastern Star. She is now employed in the commercial transportation office at Holloman Air Force Base. Her fiance attended lugli school in Nappa, and attended Pappa College for two years.

He served with the U. S. Air Force for 18 months in Korea and upon his return was assigned to Holloman Air Force Base Miss Rowe and Mr. Franquelin accompanied by Miss aunt. Miss Lucy Culver, plan to leave July 1 for Nappa, where they will visit Mr.

parents. An early fall wedding is planned A patio picnic for 80 servicemen and 20 wives of servicemen was held at the Alamogordo USO Friday night, June 25, sponsored by senior hostesses. The aft air was the first in a series of outdoor parties planned al USO for servicemen during the summer months. Servicemen roasted hot dogs to eat with generous amounts of chili beans, potato salad, relishes and home made cakes. A Quizeroo under direction of Gene Taylor highlighted entertainment of the evening.

A tape recording of the quiz show staged like a radio broadcast was made and played back for the contestants. Senior hostesses were: Mrs. Henry Attaway, Mrs. Robert Coker, Open House Held Sunday At Lotze Home Eberhard Lotze, son of Dr. and Mrs.

H. Lotze, and Peter Spilger, son of l)r. and Mrs. W. Spilger, were guests of honor at an open house held at the Lotze home, 1101 Michigan Alamogordo, Sunday.

The party was held in honor of their confirmation Sunday morning at the Trinity Lutheran Church at 8 a. m. The rooms were decorated with colorful flowers of the season. A cold lunch and punch were served buffet style. Among the guests were: Mr.

and Mrs. J. W. Dr. and Mrs.

M. Jaenke, Dr. and Mrs. H. Kuerschner.

Mr and Mrs. R. Krause. Mrs. Emery Curry, Mrs.

Dean Earl, Mrs. Marie Kyllo, Mrs. Bernard Loren, Mrs. James McKnight, Mrs. Gordon Prentiss, Mrs.

Darrell Sinclair and Mrs. N. D. Snyder. Other senior hostesses who contributed food were: Mrs.

Herbert Bruhn, Mrs. Irma Egbert, Mrs. L. R. Elmore, Mrs.

Groom and Mrs. Eber McKinley. Cakes were furnished by Mrs. Walter Lafferty, Mrs. M.

R. Baumgartner and Mrs. Uel Lane. Senior hosts who also played a prominent part in the outing were: Bob Coker, Gene Edsort, Bernard Loren, Jim McKnight, Gordon Prentiss and Darrell Sinclair. I Gene Edson brought along a big pot of beans and Darrell Sin- clair baked an angel food cake for the occasion.

Mrs. Sophie Kilgore Goes to Funeral Mrs. Sophia A. Kilgore of 1401 Ohio was called to Keller, early last week upon the death of her youngest brother, Vernon E. Gandy.

She was accompanied by Robert Kilgore, her son, and W. W. Eddleman, her son-in-law. Vernon was born at Fort Worth, and had made his home in Keller for the past 28 years. He was fatally stricken with a heart attack and died shortly thereafter.

He was employed as a mechanic at Convair for many years. He is survived by wife, four children, Vernon, jr. of Arlington, Kendall, Mary Evelyn and Rex Gandy all of Keller; one brother, W. Gandy of Hico, two sisters, Miss Mary Gandy of Hico, and Mrs. Sophia A.

Kilgore of Alamogordo; three grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tues- dav at Ml. Gilead Baptist Church, Keller. Rev. S.

R. Garrison officiated. Interment was in Bourland cemetery. PREVENT FIRES! Mrs. Milne Is Hostess To A uxiliary Installation of officers of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 34 was held at the Vivan Milne Dance studio last night.

Mrs. Nan Genta, retiring president, was the installing officer. Officers seated were: Mrs. June Bose, president; Mrs. Vivan Milne, first vice-president; Mrs.

Mary Weaver, second vice-president with Mrs. Monica Work as proxy; Miss Mildred Morgan, historian; Mrs. Billie Cordova, secretary-treasurer; Mrs. Edna Strader, chaplain; Mrs. Wilma Hash, Mrs.

Genta presented a beautiful pin to Mrs. Bea Weaver who served as her membership chairman during the past year. Mrs. Genta said that Mrs. Weaver was the first chairman to reach a quota plus ten per cent in district five.
