ln WORLD of Maryville Legion Win Pushes Record to 4-1; Take Over League Lead Mick Derr's 8-run homer in-: the first Inning propelled the Maryville Legion nine to a 10- 4 victory over Burlington Jet. Sunday night, boosting their league record to 4-1 and a first place spot in the league. 325-foot round tripper came early in the first inning after the first two batters. Loch Takes Second In High School Tourney In an 18-hole golf tournament for high school-age golfers held Sunday at Grant City Bill Loch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Loch, Maryville, won the second place trophy. Young Loch, who will be a senior at Maryville R-II High School, shot a 74 on the par 64 sand green course but was edged by a single stroke by Jack Spainhowcr, Grant City, who finished with a 73.

Sixteen entrants competed in the tournament, held in conjunction with the annual men's invitational at the Grant City municipal course. Schlitzers to Go Against Merchants The Maryville Schlitzers will be looking for their second win of the season when they face the Maryville Merchants at 8:15 p. m. Tuesday at Beal Park. Bucking a rainy schedule, the Schlitzers have only one game to their credit, while the Merchants have yet to go a full nine innings.

PRUITT IS MEMBER OF MYF CONFERENCE Richard Pruitt, a junior at Maryville R-II High School, was elected to the Methodist Youth Fellowship council at the Sixth District rally Sunday in Cameron. Pruitt, son of Mr. and Mrs Paul Pruitt. Maryville, will serve on the council as the resentative from the Maryville sub-district group. Six members were elected to set at the council which will organize the district meetings planned for the upcoming year.
