Offers "Mystery" Excursion Cincinnati, p. (UP)- A "mystery excursion" is the Southern Railway's latest contrivance to stimulate passenger business. Neither the passengers nor the trainmen know where the excursion is going until the train leaves the Cincinnati station. After the train pulls out the engineer is handed his sealed orders. The first trip was a 100-mile train ride to Lexington, a 25-mile automobile ride, a chicken dinner, and 2 ride home--an 11 hour holiday for $1.75.

There were 650 passengers on the first adventure, and the railroad company announced there would be more excursions in the near future. Weeping Willow Goes for Ride Bend, Ore. (UP)- A weeping willow, weighing half-ton, took a water ride here for a new location. The tree was removed from one lawn, placed on an improvised raft, docked downstream and taken to its new location. Funeral of Late Mrs.

Betty Kinion Funeral services for the late Mrs. Betty Kinion, aged 85, who passed away at her home two miles east of Adair, yesterday morning, will be held at the Methodist Church of Adair at 2 o'clock this afternoon. Rev. W. M.

Trent and Rev. J. M. Russell will officiate at the ceremony. Burial will be made in the Adair cemetery under the direction of the Reid Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Tire Dealers Warn Of Price Increse The new federal tax on tires, which will go into effect soon, will positively bring about an increase in tire prices. This warning is sounded in today's Journal by Vinita tire dealers, in a display advertisement which will be found on page four. Motorists who are intending to buy soon, are urged to heed this warning and buy before the tax goes into effect, to take advantage of the prevailing low prices on tires and tubes. Rooster Blamed for Illness Mansfield, Mass. (UP) The town selectment recently received a letter from a resident, complaining of a neighbor's rooster, which, he said, crowed 67 times within two hours duing the night and caused sickness in his family.
