Mr. Hopper, a retired farmer, had lived in Decatur the past 12 years, moving here from Herrick. He also had lived in the St. Elmo area. Hev was born March 14, 1883, in Loudon Township in Fayette County, a son of Marion and Sarah Markwell Hopper.

He was married to Mary V. Hadley, who survives. Other survivors are a son, Had ley Little Silver, N. two daughters, Mrs. Pearl H.

(Fay Marie) Beck, Herrick; Mrs. Orv- ille L. (Meridee) Shiels, Shelby ville; a sister, Mrs. Iva Cum- mings, Decatur; a half sister, Mrs. Flossie Dial, California; and seven grandchildren.
