Decatur, Illinois, Friday, August 31, 1936. THE DECATUR REVIEW PAGE NINE came the Chicago Bears of 1922 The Bears were born and "Papa Bear" Halas and his now famous team were on their wav. Halas has never forgotten that it was the Staley Co. that gave him his start. So he has arranged "A Staley Day At Wrigley Field" for October 21, to honor the Company that launched him on a career that at present sees him as president and owner of the Chicago Bears, seven times champs of the National Pro League and one of the richest On Lincoln Square Since 1877 teams in pro football.

Staley News Halas Plans Staley Day As Tribute A considerable amount of interest has developed among employes af the A. E. Staley Mfg. Co. over the recent announcement made by George halas, president of the Chicago Bears, and the Wabash Railroad.

Aug. 19 Halas released an announcement that the Bears would dedicate their game of Sunday, Oct. 21, to the Staley Co. in honor of its 50th anniversary. The Bears will play the Baltimore Colts.

The Staley 'Co. was founded in Baltimore in 1906. Last Friday the Wabash announced that it would run a special train to Chicago for the game. A block of 1,000 seats has been reserved. A package deal that includes round trip train fare, motor transfer service from Dearborn Station to Wrigky Field and return and a reserved seat ticket for the football "game will be offered for $9.95.

Tickets will go on sale to Staley employes Monday. For the first week, Sept. 3 through Sept. 10, Wagner Asks Senate Seat New York, Aug. 31 (AP) Robert F.

30 (AP) A truck driver was killed todiv when the dump box of a dump truck dropped on his head as he reached under it to release a jammed mechanism. He was identified as Howard J.
