Illinois, Wednesday, June 6, 1951. THE DECATUR REVIEW PAGE NINETEEN Rent Levels Remain High "They'll ask $100 for anything without batting an eye," C. C. Martin, rent director, told the rent advisory board yesterday. The large number of registrations his office is receiving for houses and apartments to rent for $100 a month or more has "forced" the rent office into a new policy of more personal inspections, he said.

He brought several applications for $100 or more to the board meeting. Most of them should be cut about 25 per cent, he said. One was a. small, unfurnished basement apartment. Another, for which the landlord wanted $125 a month, consisted of seven rooms.

Mr. Martin said they were in poor repair in an old house. 12 Dalton City Youths Finish First Aid Course Sullivan, June 5 (Staff) Twelve young people of the Dalton City area are the first 1 to complete work for junior Red Cross first aid certificates in Moultrie county this year, according to Dr. R. D.

Effingham Parking Fines More Lenient Effingham, June 5 (Staff) City officials voted tonight for more leniency on parking violations -and the earlier a motorist pays a fine the cheaper it'll be.

Council members said a parking fine paid within an hour after the ticket is made out will be only five cents. Within two hours it is 10 cents and after two hours it is 50 cents. It the violator waits until the next day to pay up, he'll be charged one dollar. Mayor Eugene E. Wenthe announced Patrolman Cecil Ormsby has been sent to Ohio to attend a school of instruction in parking meter maintenance.

He also said all parking meters here have been repaired. Clinton Radio Station To Air Park Programs Clinton, June 5. (Staff) Clinton radio station WHOW has leased broadcast and concession rights at Weldon Springs state park for the summer season which opens Sunday. For the opening Sunday WHOW is planning an amateur show and other entertainment. Concessions at the park will be open weekdays from noon until evening, and through the week in the evenings there will be round and square dancing.

WHOW will broadcast from the park on Sundays, as well as fur'nish entertainment, and it also will broadcast religious services there. Farmer City Delegate To Girls' State Named Farmer City, June 5 (Staff) Margaret Satterfeal, daughter of the George Satterfeals, has been chosen to represent the American Legion auxiliary of Farmer City at girls' state at MacMurray college, Jacksonville. Miss Satterfeal was "Miss Junior" of the Moore township high school annual stunt show, secretary of the Pep club and has been elected president of the Girls Athletic association for the 1951 52 school year. Two Cowden Men Fined For Drunken Driving Shelbyville, June 5 (Staff) Two Cowden men were fined $150 each and lost their driver's licenses, for 90 days when they pleaded guilty Monday in Shelby court to drunken driving. county, are Cecil Wonus, 60, who was arrested at 8 p.m.

Homicide, Suicide Ruled In Double Salem Killing Salem, June 5 (Staff) The shotgun deaths of a Salem man and his daughter last Thursday night was ruled as homicide and, suicide by a coroner's jury at an inquest here Monday.
